The Xian City Wall has four main city gates, including the East Gate (Changle Gate), the West Gate (Anding Gate), the South Gate (Yongning Gate) and the North Gate (Anyuan Gate).
Built in 582, the South Gate is the oldest and longest city gate. It was renamed Yongning Gate during the Ming Dynasty. There are two army performances which are performed at the South Gate. One can go there to enjoy the performances when visiting the Xian City Wall.
