In the morning, take bus No.502 from Chongqing Hotel (near Linjiangmen station of subway line 2) to the terminal stop, Beibei. Then transfer to bus No.518 and alight after 6 stops at Jinyun Mountain Cable Way (Jin Yun Shan Suo Dao).

Then take the cable car to the beautiful "Small Emei"- Jinyun Mountain. The admission fee will be CNY15 and the fare for the cable car CNY20. (the site is free to enter on each Arbor Day, March 12). If you want to visit the well-known Lion Peak within this scenic area, an extra charge of CNY5 per person is required.

Jinyun Mountain, located in the suburb of Chongqing, is a pleasant resort in summer. With an altitude of 980 meters (3,215 feet), nine peaks standing aloft, surrounded by luxuriant trees and bamboos, the mountain deserves its name - "Small Emei Mountain". Famous for its historic relics and natural beauty, it attracts numerous tourists each year.

In the afternoon, visit the Pianyan Old Town and savour its simple and unsophisticated style. You can take a taxi or carpool a minivan with other travelers. Stroll along the ancient street to explore its unique and primitive atmosphere after dinner. The town is famous for its peculiar wall in its northern part. Most artists will go there to sketch and take photos. Stay overnight in Beibei. The alternative is to take a bath and relax yourself in the famous Northern Hot Spring. Many people will go there around 17:00, thus the best time to go is after 19:00 when there are less tourists. The cost varies from CNY10 to CNY150 per person, but you will find it worthwhile.

Take a bus from Beibei Coach Station to Jindao Gorge Scenic Spot at CNY15.

Jindao Gorge Scenic Spot, about 62 km from Beibei district, is a newly discovered impressive gorge with its primitive and haunting beauty. This karst area is full of surprises for tourists. Due to the famous ten miles plank road built along a cliff, this spot has a reputation as the most dangerous gorge in China. It is also an ideal summer resort. You can hike in the gorge, and it takes about 2 to 3 hours. The admission fee is CNY100 during peak season (March to October) and CNY60 during low season (November to February).

Return to Beibei and catch a bus back to Chongqing City.
