Once a time when talking about Guangzhou, a friend praised Pearl River for its night scenery again and again and that impressed me a lot. Thus when stayed in Guangzhou, I grasped the chance and had a night cruise on the famous Pearl River.

The cruise I booked was with ‘Information Times’ at 20:45 and departing from Tianzi Wharf. The ship was quite large with 3 floors. The 1st and 2nd floor were air-conditioned sightseeing halls with full height glazing; the 3rd floor was open-air terrace. According to my estimation, this ship was well capable of holding 300 persons. Food and fruit were offered on the ship, some were free and some needed extra pay, not clear very much.

At 20:45, the ship departed on time. As cruised slowly on the river, I just felt like a drawing was opened before me.

Buildings in different styles came into my eyes, so did the bridges. To say that Pearl River Cruise was an architecture expo was no exaggeration. Most of the buildings were built in the 1900’s, 1950’s and 1980’s style. The famous Ersha Island was full of modern Guangzhou atmosphere. The bridges were my favorite, all of which were decorated by dazzling lights, changing their color every now and then. Sometimes looked like a rainbow across the river; sometimes formed a waterfall of light together with its shadow. The one I liked most was Haiyin Bridge: looked like the wings of a butterfly, also the spread sails as well as two big harps playing beautiful music for the amazing Pearl River. Every time passing by a bridge, a cheer arouse. From those cheers, I got to know that we passed by seven bridges; told by the guide, the oldest Haizhu Bridge was built in 1933 and the youngest Jiefang Bridge was built in 1998. Wasn’t like a history of bridge development? Standing on the 3rd floor, enjoying the scenery with soft wind blowing on my face, it was one of the best enjoyments I’ve ever had.

The cruise last for about 1.5 hours and I really love it. If anyone has any chance to be in Guangzhou, you must not miss it. Believe me, you will not regret.

你可能需要上海聚氨酯dong Airport Shuttle Bus(//www.digddiz.com/cityguides/shanghai/transportation/pudong-airport-bus.htm) line 7 from the airport to Shanghai South Railway Station where there are direct buses to Pujiang at 09:00 and 15:00. It takes about 3.5-4 hours, and the ticket price is CNY89.
